Faith is at the heart of everything we do.
We seek to be good Ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). We are well aware that everything we do and say either brings credit to Jesus, or detracts from Jesus.
We are well aware that we live in a messy world, where many people are vulnerable, not necessarily because of what they have done themselves, but because of the circumstances they find themselves in. Refugees and Asylum Seekers exist because humankind is sinful.
We also know for ourselves, that while we are sinful, God proves his love for us, in that Jesus died for us (Romans 5:8). Because Jesus died for us, we know that we are reconciled with God.
We know that the love of Jesus urges us on because of his death on our behalf (2 Corinthians 5:1). We know that we are in Christ ‘a new creation’ (2 Corinthians 5:17). We have had a fresh start.
Refugees seek a fresh start, and it is a privilege to be part of their settlement journey.
We minister/work with any refugee household that we are matched with, irrespective of any belief or religion they have, or don’t have. We respect their choices and acknowledge their vulnerabilities as they seek a fresh start in a new community and culture.
In doing so, we wish to bring credit to Jesus by demonstrating God's love.
We know well that Jesus has reconciled us and given us a fresh start.
